Project Objectives:
Pascal Press are a leading publisher of workbooks and study guides for Australian students. Their Excel series provides preparation for a range of Australian school tests, including NAPLAN testing.

Pascal Press approached 3RD sense to develop a website for students, teachers and parents that provides a complete practice test environment. Access was to be on a subscription basis and Pascal Press required a complete content management system to enable them to fully manage the site.

Outcomes Achieved:
Excel Text Zone is a comprehensive online test preparation destination. A rich learning environment, it allows users to build a complete profile of their test preparation with simulated tests, results, explanations of questions and tracking of progress across a range of subject areas. The site is designed for use by both students at an individual level and by teachers classroom-wide. At a classroom level, the teacher can monitor individual and group performance and identify areas of weakness across the entire group for additional teaching focus.

As students move through the tests, they are rewarded with access to a series of fun games in the Gymbrainium. Modelled on 'brain-training' style games, Gymbrainium games are both for enjoyment and reinforcement of many of the skills being measured in the testing.

To handle subscription with various packages for individual or school level, the site incorporates a full transaction system that allows payment by credit card.

Pascal Press have a team of teachers who devise questions and tests. To facilitate the creation of new tests, we built a complete content management system that allows ultimate flexiblity in constantly expanding the site to incorporate new national and state-based tests.
