Client Project: WIN Television Website

WIN Television Website
Created for WIN Corporation

Project Objectives:

WIN Television is the world’s largest privately owned regional television network with an audience reach of over 5.2 million viewers across six Australian States and the nation’s capital. As well as carrying some of the most popular syndicated content on TV, WIN produces 18 individual 30 minute news bulletins every weekday as well as recognised local shows Fishing Australia and Postcards Australia.

WIN television approached 3RD sense to undertake a complete redevelop of their online properties and establish WIN as a leader of interactive digital content for their customers.

Outcomes Achieved:

The new WIN sites are cutting edge because they enable their customers to personalise the website to their local region, delivering localised programming information, up to the minute news and weather, community based content, high definition video content and the ability to even contribute to regional news.

The brief provided by WIN to 3RD sense for the new websites was that the design had to match WIN’s key objectives of providing a fun, contemporary, entertaining website that had the ability to constantly evolve and remain up to date.

From the clean, clear main page users are able to quickly and efficiently drill down for more information specific to their needs. Whether it is the 3 day forecast in their region or finding out if their favourite show is on that night.

The ability of the local regions to update information specific to them, including local news and community events, was the lynchpin in delivering a successful product. WIN television has 28 newsrooms across the country so the introduction of a   comprehensive content management system that allows for the instantaneous creation of news stories with the upload of text, images and video provided WIN with a solution that places them at the forefront of online news provision in the Australian market.

A great feature of the new site is the ability of WIN’s customers to contribute to their local news through the contact section of the website. The ‘Tell us your story’ feature draws attention to WIN’s ongoing commitment to involving its audience.

As well as the flagship website www.wintv.com.au there will be a brand new corporate website unveiled as well as websites for two of WIN televisions local productions Fishing Australia and Postcards Australia.
