The Challenge

The Powour App is an ambitious project. It aims to reduce carbon emissions and increase everyone’s health and fitness. On top of that, it will provide Scope 3 reporting for businesses whilst keeping all users’ data secure and private. Can we build an app that does all that? Of course we can….

WE DELIVERED

The first step of this project was to embark on our Collaborative Design Process with the Powour team. They had a very clear vision for this project and it was our job, between us, to turn that vision into a software development roadmap. We identified the key priorities for the business and worked with them to design the first version of the app, the Minimal Viable Product (MVP).

The first phase was development. Taking an Agile approach, we developed the MVP, iterating along the way as new requirements and improvements were identified.

The Powour app incorporates the Sentiance SDK for user trip tracking. The app was developed with React Native linked to an in-house developed API with a MongoDB database. The app also uses Google Maps to display trip details.

The app incorporates some gamification elements to motivate users to keep using the app. Over time, these, along with other features, will develop and grow.

THE OUTCOMES

The MVP has been released and whilst new features are being developed, this first version is being tested by a growing userbase. The feedback is very positive so far, but we’d love to hear your thoughts. Download and install the app today, then let us know what you think.
